My background is in working with individuals, couples, and families through the parts of life that can feel messy, overwhelming, or just hard to make sense of. A lot of the people I work with are dealing with things from their past that are still affecting them today, relationship patterns they can’t seem to get out of, anxiety, family conflict, or big changes in life that have left them feeling a little lost.
I’m EMDR-trained, and I tend to look at the bigger picture. I want to understand not just what’s happening now, but what you’ve been through, the relationships that shaped you, and where some of your patterns may have started. Sometimes the things we learned to do to protect ourselves years ago are the same things making life or relationships harder today.
My approach is down-to-earth. I’m not the kind of therapist who is going to sit quietly, nod, and leave you wondering what I’m thinking. I’ll ask questions, help you connect the dots, be honest with you, and challenge you when it feels helpful. There’s also room for humor and just being human.
I especially enjoy working with trauma, anxiety, relationships, communication, attachment, couples, family dynamics, divorce and co-parenting, and major life transitions. You don’t have to come in knowing exactly what you need to work on. Sometimes you just know something doesn’t feel right anymore, and we can start there.
